Migrated from joomla to wordpress…

For a long time now I have been a bit annoyed by the limitations of joomla and now finally migrated to wordpress. As it turns out, migration is a breeze. I used a tool to migrate Joomla to an older wordpress version 2.6.5, and after that simply upgrading wordpress to the most recent version. The bulk of the work is now in customizing the site a little, starting with look and feel and then adding other functionality.

    Hi Erik

I read from your comments that you recently turned to WordPress 3.0 for your site. I did it vice versa, because I feel that Joomla offers more power (as far as cms’es go). However, if it’s ease of use you’re after, then you’ve come to the right place 🙂
Wordpress offers great flexibility and indeed has a very large community that builds modules for all kinds of tasks. I suggest that you check out the Xhanch twitter module. It is very flexible and has tons of features….

    Happy writing 🙂

    Hi Erik

    One more thing…
You definitely want to check out a different template. The standard one looks a bit bland 😉 I recently signed up for http://www.elegantthemes.com and they have beautiful templates (premium for only $ 19,99) Another great source for templates is http://www.themeforest.com. So go check it out !

    Greetz,
